Philosophy and Goals
We believe children learn best by interacting and exploring the world around them. At Little Sprouts Preschool we want children to be confident and excited about their world; ready to go out and explore without reservation.

In the preschool setting we focus on:
- Promoting self-confidence, independence and self-help skills
- Following routines and directions
- Providing opportunities to learn to enter/exit play settings with peers
- Age appropriate activities that will increase communication and social skills
- Teaching problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Working and exploring with a variety of textures, smells, and substances to increase sensory adaptability
- Exposure to basic academic skills
The class has an opening circle time where songs and stories will be shared. We have an art activity on most days, followed with movement and free choice play in the big room. A snack is provided, and the children often help prepare the food. We close the day with a short circle time to talk about our day and what is ahead, and to say goodbye to all of our friends.
In the classroom, we rotate through a series of different themes. Themes are represented through stories, finger plays, songs, crafts, snacks and movement activities.
